Jackson Tatge (He/Him/His), from Ridgefield, Connecticut, is a recent graduate from Michigan State University’s Graphic Design BFA program. By day, Jackson works as an Apprentice 2nd Grade Teacher at New Canaan Country School. By night, Jackson currently works on contract as an animator for Great River Learning, in web design for Piedmont Grocery, and works as a multimedia designer at Cleaver Magazine. In his free time, Jackson is working in motion, character, and UI/UX design for a mobile game application he is developing.

This workshop introduces you to digital media content creation, giving you a hands-on look at how to source royalty-free images with and without AI, plus two powerful design tools: Adobe Photoshop and Canva. Tailored specifically for writers, this class will show you how to create eye-catching graphics that represent your author brand—from book promotion images and social media visuals to website banners and newsletter headers. We’ll walk through the core features of both platforms, explore when and how to use each one, and give you the confidence to start creating on your own. 

This workshop dives deeper into search engine optimization (SEO), equipping you with the tools and strategies to increase your site’s visibility and grow your audience. Tailored specifically for writers, this hands-on class will demystify how search engines work and teach you how to use keywords, content structure, metadata, and analytics to your advantage. You’ll learn how to attract organic traffic, improve your site’s ranking, and build a long-term presence online without paid ads.
