Autumn H. Thomas
BODY DOUBLE
A productivity strategy often used by people with
………….inattentiveness adj.
………….………….pollen sticking to stigma
………….………….brushed by genetic chance
………….………….the limb of the bumblebee
………….………….lackadaisically’d rigour mortis
Coming home to the mansion of my mind
Unable to speak the language, perform the culture,
The gender, the intricacies of molecules forming
In the warmth of an embrace,
But she can.
………….………….sh.e cAN?
in my mirror
Say her name three times
And fungi grows
A fossil of too much eyeshadow
And too little human
A kingdom lacking chlorophyll
Spreading spores to the surface
Hyphae clothing cotton of the
Cyborg’s robe.
………….………….………….………….………….And yet she’s here
Watching my every move
Licking wounds with catacomb tongue
Adjacently hyperactive and hyperbolic
My venus system implodes in a cloud of inexorability
The deer stuck on the other side of the fence
Will linger in the liminal
Provoked by the integration of assimilation and writhing in the image
of pasificity
